Today I got to pass on one of my favourite childhood toys to my son - lovingly preserved and stowed away by my father about two decades ago, as he somehow new that he'd have a grandkid that would need this... a Playmobil pirate ship, with all the trimmings, and with the non-politically-correct guns, cutlasses etc. that pirate ships used to have. Actually, the guns even fire small wood cannonballs, and if I were to take a Chrono to test them, I wouldn't be surprised if they broke the legal EU limit to be classed as child toys (muzzle energy >0,5J)Still, it feels great to pass this on, and to play all those great games again that I played at that age - only this time, I'm the parent, and I'm stuck with defending the treasure against the cool pirates :-(
